2020 Wedding Trends

Trends

February 27, 2020

  • Eco-Friendly Events: Sustainability is always important and more than ever couples are making strides to keep their weddings in line with this effort. Using biodegradable servingware like Harvest Moon Catering‘s bamboo plates are one way couples can be more conscious of their impact on the environment. We also love repurposing florals (donating to a children’s hospital or nursing home) or skipping fireworks for less environmentally damaging entertainment options.
  • Color: While a classic white and green wedding will always be en vogue, we are seeing more couples embracing the use of color in their event design. Everything from saturated jewel tones to muted pastels is in play. And with Pantone’s color of the year being named as classic blue, we have a feeling weddings this year will be steeped in shades from sky to navy and everything in-between.
  • Intimate affairs: Want a bespoke, custom experience but not the price tag that comes with it? Or perhaps you prefer to celebrate with only a handful of close friends and family vs. your entire college and grad school classmates. It’s easy to see why the trend of intimate weddings is popping up more and more. To those wanting to treat guests to a luxe wedding experience lowering your guest count is the easiest way to accomplish it. Entertaining forty or fewer of your closest friends and family allows you more room to consider a far away destination, a high end event design or a weekend full of high touch experiences and activities.
  • Flower Grannies: For those wanting to honor the older ladies in your life, swapping them in for your usual flower girl is a trend we are obsessed with. What a special way to recognize a family member or friend you adore! And it doesn’t have to stop at your grandmother. We love roping in your brother, aunt, grandfather, uncle, college roommate, former boss or mentor – whoever is special to you!
