Words cannot express our sincere gratitude to Dickie and Maureen of Just a Little Ditty for the truly breathtaking wedding they helped us plan for our daughter. Our challenge was to host a wedding for 300 out-of-town guests on a farm outside of Lexington, Virginia where our daughter and our new son-in-law attended college – and to add to the complexity, we were making most of the arrangements from out of state. The moment we interviewed Dickie and Maureen, we knew that they were the right team for us.
From planning meetings, site visits, tastings and vendor visits, to numerous conference calls, emails and texts with Dickie and Maureen, they were right there beside us providing their expert guidance. [However] the true test was the wedding. From the hotels and transportation to the carefully orchestrated wedding ceremony and truly spectacular floral design and lighting throughout the beautiful sailcloth reception/dinner tent and barn, Dickie and Maureen made sure each and every detail was thoughtfully and tastefully coordinated. During the entire wedding day and all the way through the reception, we did not think about logistics. Because of Dickie’s and Maureen’s meticulous planning, we were able to focus on being sure our daughter’s ceremony was meaningful and that our guests felt welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the reception. Once the planning was done, we left the execution to Dickie and Maureen, and we were able to enjoy the entire experience with our family and friends.
We are “tough customers” when it comes to entertaining. We do not mind paying for superior quality, but we expect execution and delivery. Dickie and Maureen sold us on what could be done (not undersold, as the saying goes) – and they overdelivered. In less than two weeks after the wedding, we literally have received dozens of letters, texts, emails and calls from family and friends telling us that our daughter’s wedding was the most meaningful, joyful and spectacular wedding they have ever attended. And, we concur. Looking back, we felt like we were visitors dropped into the most amazing fairly-tale wedding – and yet it was our daughter’s wedding.
Last fall, we started a business relationship with Just a Little Ditty. By the time of the wedding this summer, we gained two new family friends in Dickie and Maureen (who we now fondly refer to as our new “Charlottesville daughters”).
best, hunter
