Just A Little Advice: 10 Reasons to Hire a Wedding Planner

Advice

June 13, 2019

When it comes to planning your wedding, everyone falls somewhere between “I was made for this” or “I have no clue where to even begin.” Regardless, hiring a wedding planner is a smart move, even for type A brides who know exactly what they want. Read our top ten list below to find out why!

  1. Stress free is the way to be. Having a wedding planner on board, whether it’s partial or full planning, allows you the freedom to actually enjoy your big day instead of stressing about the audio visual hook ups or making sure vendor meals are delivered. Relax. Let your wedding planner be your go to person so you don’t have to answer every question. If you let them handle the logistics, then you can handle the fun stuff – like your registry and honeymoon for starters.
  2. It saves you money. Wedding planners know budget busters and budget impacts. We can help you work through your wish list and determine what should be a priority and what can be on your wish list. Fireworks are awesome but at an average of $1,000 per minute is there another option you could work in to save? We can also help know which points of negotiation are feasible and which shouldn’t be touched.
  3. We’ll help you build the best team possible. We know the top players in the industry. Your wedding should be one of the most special moments of your life. Spending time stressing about vendor selections or trusting people you don’t know will not make it a fun process. When you hire a planner you can trust we’re recommending people we trust and that we enjoy working with. We help you build a great team because we’re invested in your day and want to help you make your dreams a reality.
  4. We specialize in all things wedding. Not just one area. A lot of couples think hiring a wedding planner isn’t necessary since their venue includes a coordinator – but know that while an important member of your team a venue coordinator will only do just that – coordinate the venue. There are a ton of other details that go into the day like catering, florals, transportation, design, ceremony, and on and on. A venue coordinator will help with logistics relating to the space but not the whole shebang. A wedding planner will.
  5. It gives you local insight. If you’re planning your wedding in a different city, state or country from where you reside a wedding planner will become your best friend. Having someone local to be your contact for meetings you can’t attend or who can give you the skinny on the best vendors is a huge advantage.
  6. Two words: design and shine. A good planner helps bring your vision to life. Especially at just a little ditty, we approach wedding planning as a collaborative effort that allows you to design the vision you want. We work with our couples to create a vision that encompasses not only them as a couple but helps them throw a soiree that makes their guests feel included on. A good event is measured by how your guests feel when it’s all said at done. Wedding planners ensure that your guests receive top notch hospitality and only have to worry about one thing: celebrating with you.
  7. We’re bridal party wranglers. Your dearest friends and family that you want by your side on your wedding day may not always be Type-A or B planners. One or two of them are most likely the fun loving party going type who just wants a drink already. Save yourself some time worrying where Jim ran off to and hire a wedding planner. We will manage your bridal party from start to finish – giving them important details and timeline before the wedding and making sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be, when they’re supposed to be on-site.
  8. We know the etiquette (but aren’t afraid to break it). Wedding traditions have evolved over the years. Gone are the days of the brides’ family funding the shindig 100%, newspaper announcements and garter tosses. These things still happen (and often), but they’re no longer expected. When you work with a wedding planner we’ll help you navigate the sometimes tricky etiquette pool. From invitation wording to reception activities,  we can help you build all the necessary pieces to make your traditional or non-traditional wedding a success.
  9. We always have a built in back up plan. Wedding planners find solutions where none exist. A transportation company sends the wrong type of vehicle? Handled. The cake crumbles during setup? Handled. No one knows how to pin a boutonniere? Handled. Having a planner on your team will not only help you manage logistics going into the big day but it will help you have someone talented at the helm to manage things when they don’t go according to plan. As the saying goes, you can plan a pretty picnic but you can’t predict the weather. Well when you’re working with a wedding planner consider yourself covered no matter what.
  10. It’s our job. Weddings are what we do. Hire a wedding planner and that freedom will allow you to live your life outside of color swatches, ceremony readings and in season florals. Chances are one or both of you work part or full time – add in planning a wedding to your task list and whatever free time you had just went poof. Having a planner leading your team allows you to enjoy the process while maintaining a work/life balance that you can actually sustain.

Even if full planning isn’t practical for your budget, some level of planning should be factored into your budget early on. The sooner you bring a planner onto your team the sooner your wedding will move from a Pinterest board to a reality.
