Motherhood is a strange experience. It’s something you become, not something you are born as or study to be. You truly have no control over when or where or why you become a mother, though you may try, you just do. It’s a biological experience for some, sure, but for others you reach this state of guardianship by happenstance, or hard work, or loss — but no matter the circumstance, at the root of it all is always love.
Today we celebrate all forms of motherhood. Those who have mothers, those who have lost mothers, those who are mothers, and those who want (or don’t want) to become a mother someday. You’re all loved, you’re all worthy and you’re all seen.
Thank you to all the forms of mamas in our lives for always having our backs (and our trains).
